Udupi, Apr 21: Young children formed a human chain near Clock Tower here today, April 20, under the slogan 'Neeru Ulisi Jeeva Rakshisi' (Save water secure the future).

A group of 130 children named Gulshan as part of a summer camp held from April 17 to April 22 by the women's wing of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind organization formed a human chain to create awareness among citizens.

Navida Hussain Asadi, convener of Jamathe Islami Hind women's wing, women's wing president Shahida Riaz, Sadika, Neharunnisa, Abdul Aziz, Maria and others were present.

    Ever since people stopped cultivation of land and agricultural work water scarcity has invaded in . I remember the days couple of decades back lakes were found with full of water in the month of April and May.Water used to flow from the streams till Sept October. Some streams used to flow throughout the year.No Bore wells then . Only wells.Climate was cool during April May also. We are facing distress due to our negligence . So called comforts have made us weak. Only going back will help us to make this earth fit to live for the future generation.
