Mangaluru, Apr 20: A foundation stone laying ceremony for the Hazrat Sayed Banat College building, will be held at Ullal on Saturday, April 22 at 4.30pm at Hazrat School premises, Madani Ground, Ullal, announced members of the Ullal Juma Masjid and Sayyid Madani Darga, at the press club here, on Thursday, April 20..
"Karnataka state governor Vajubai Rudabai Wala will be laying the foundation stone for Hazrat Sayed Banat College building," said the two institutions extending an invitation to the general public, for the ceremony.
Sayyid Madani Darga, a charitable trust was established in 1982 and will celebrate 35 years with the ceremony and release of souvenir 'Hazrat Mazani Ilm'.
A programme will be held to felicitate those excelling in various spheres, both within and outside the country.
"This building is being constructed for educating young Muslim girls, so that they have a place to pursue their education, thereby attain proper educational qualifications," said Abdul Rashid.
He also explained the purpose of the project which will cost about Rs 5 crores. "We hope to see active participation by the general public and the media as we endeavour into this project.Basavaraj Raireddy, Tanvir Sait, U T Khadar and Ivan D'Souza are amongst for the programme," he announced.
Sayyid Madani Darga was established in Ullal to meet educational needs. So far, Urdu, Kannada, English Medium Schools, Technical Schools, Pre-University College and degree colleges have been functioning under the trust.
More than 8000 students are studying in the three Kannada Medium Primary Schools, three English-medium primary schools, three Kannada medium high schools and three English Medium high schools, a Women's College, two Pre-university Colleges, two degree colleges, and one Sayyid Madani Islamic Science College.
