Udupi, Apr 19: An evening of musical extravaganza marked the celebration of Easter at Pangla. The show titled 'Pask Porab - 2017' was presented by Sangeeth Premi Pangla and Sennon Productions in association with O...La...Re.. team from Mangaluru on Sunday April 16 at St John Evangelist Church, Pangla grounds.
Anil D'sa, a renowned singer from Pangla organizes musical shows or programmes in Pangla every year, catering to the needs of music lovers of the vicinity. This year D'Sa invited the most famous and celebrated artistes of the current generation of Konkani music.
The famous duo Shilpa and Stephen Cutinha along with GVOM winner Robin Sequeira, Meera Crasta and Elton Nazareth mesmerized and enthralled the audience. Anil D’Sa, Andrew Mathias, Oliver Rebello, Ashmitha and Varun D’Sa (son of Anil D’Sa) were also part of the singing troupe. Music was rendered by Roshan D’Souza, Angelore and his team Jerome Coelho (bass guitar), Sanjay Rodrigues (keyboard), Arthur Lobo (rhythm guitar) and Ivan Pereira (drums). The Naach Sobhann team backed the singers with their dance.
The famous comedy trio Nellu Permannur, Sunil Crasta and Shaun Rodrigues entertained the audience through their rib tickling comedy. At the outset the programme began with a prayer song sung by the ICYM members, Pangla. A short stage programme was held wherein the lead vocalists Shilpa, Stephen and Anil; the parish priest of Pangla Fr Leslie D’Souza along with Mark Vaz (VP parish council), Clara Mendonsa (secretary, parish council) were invited onto the dais. Stephen profusely thanked Fr Leslie for his unending support at organizing and hosting Easter Nite 2017. He also thanked Anil D’Sa for his initiative in organizing the show. Stephen finally thanked the Pangla parishioners for their presence in large numbers.
Fr Leslie too addressed the gathering. He assured his support to all who aspire to work for music. He held Shilpa and Stephen Cutinha in high esteem. He was also appreciative of Roshan D’Souza, Angelore who has spent many years in mastering and creating music. Anil D'Sa proposed the vote of thanks.
