Mangaluru, Mar 10: The complaint of abduction filed in Barke police station about a girl student of a school at Mannagudda was, on Thursday March 9, proved to be false. The girl had said that four unidentified abductors who came in Maruti Omni van had taken her away from near Gurji Circle at Mannagudda on Monday March 6, sprayed something to make her unconscious, and had dropped her off near Kadri Park.

The girl student, who had given anxious moments to the administrators of the tutorial near Car Street which she has been attending, her school, as well as as the police after she said she was abducted, clarified on Thursday that she had cooked up the abduction story. On being produced in the presence of a judge here on Thursday March 9, the student said that her mother did not allow her to use cellphone, and continuously brought pressure on her to study. Angered by this attitude, she said, she created the abduction story. She confessed that she had never thought that a police complaint would be filed about the abduction. "When I saw police personnel, I was overtaken by a sense of fear. Therefore, I confirmed that I was abducted," she explained.

The girl, a ninth standard student, hails from Bengaluru. She had been sent by the tutorial staff to attend oral examination at her school, but soon learnt that she had not reached the school. They then had visited Bunder police station here to file missing complaint when the girl called them to inform that she had been abducted and dropped off by unknown people.

Girl must have thought she is clever and would comeout with a lie ,and could use mobile. As it didnt function ,by seeing police, she got nervous.came the truth last.Sure mother has right,Children should first concentrate on studys ,but use of mobile should be allowed only after their home work or school work.Mobile can be given to them not with all facilitys, but restricted to only certain functions.Parents should control from time to time their mobile.Nowadays every child has one, thatswhy parents also think ,when their child doesnt have one might be spot to other children, feel inferior. Many do as this girl did later.counselling is important.

The mother is right.Cellphones and especially social media which they access on phones are like cancer.
They are ruining the lives of young people because of all this selfie and tweeting nonsense due to peer pressure.
Everytime I see a school or college student on the streets, especially girls, they are always on their phone messaging and not paying attention to traffic.
There have been accidents because of this and its no surprise that the highest cases of selfie deaths are in India.
I don't mind cellphone usage for youngsters as it is needed but social media usage should be restricted as there is too much hatred and nonsense being circulated which will spoil their minds.

I blame media for this. Because it's obvious that parents want their children to be good in studies and be on a right path of their carrier. It's not true that all parents will enforce or insist on that. Problem is with the current youth or to the extent with these children also. They get to see all kind of nonsense in media , may be in TV or movies or mobiles now a days. So some kids who are abnormal , will try all these stupid stuffs. We can not just blame parents. I know few kids who say they don't want to go to school. they don't want to study. Do you think any parents will agree for this. Those who comment a lot, will they agree for their children to be illiterate or on wrong path. If you scold them, or try to correct them, that's where the problem starts. some children take it positively and correct themselves. But few ( whom I mentioned as abnormal above ) will look for all such stupid acts. Very sensitive issue and unless we control media especially TV and Mobiles, it's obvious we get to hear many more such incidents.

A lesson to understand here. Imagine the child under the circumstances. Not all individuals are same with extra intelligence.
All parents want their kids to do well. But unrealistic expectations not only have potentially damaging long-term psychological effects, they can hurt kids academically. Some pressure does help children achieve more, but expecting the unachievable only makes them do worse. When parents push kids to achieve, they do rise to meet the expectations. But when parents try to nudge kids past their realistic potential, the effort backfire, and the students actually do worse.Just aim high for your children and they will achieve more.Unrealistically high aspiration may hinder academic performance. Simply raising aspiration cannot be an effective solution to improve success in education.
