Hindu activists had attacked the prayer hall of Good Samaritan Ashram, under Karnataka Gospel Mission, on Saturday March 1, alleging the religious conversion which turned violent when police arrived at the spot resorted to lati charge, in order to disperse the mob.

The locals were aggrieved over the Hindu activists who were involved in the mob fury since they were already booked under non-bailable cases and at the backdrop of Hindu activists threatened to hold aggravated protest; the higher police officers are camping at the spot as safety measures to thwart any course of action by Hindu activists.

Hindu activists gathered at Good Samaritan Ashram on Saturday when the wedding nuptials of Hindu couple, was in progress who demanded the Ashram authorities to hand over the couple into their custody.  When the authorities not heeded to their demand, Hindu activists resorted to pelting stones on moving vehicles which resulted in tense situation for some time till the police arrived and curbed the mob by resorting to baton charge.  Many activists including locals were wounded owing to baton charge by the police.
