Daijiworld Media Network - Moodbidri (SP)

Moodbidri, Mar 9: A complaint stands filed in the police station in the town about a couple from here, currently residing in Mumbai, having disappeared all of a sudden after arriving by a bus from Mumbai.

It is said that Jaya Poojary (46), a native of Moodumarnadu village hear here, who had settled down at Mumbai, and his wife, Shakuntala (36), had come here by a bus on February 27. However, they never reached their ancestral home and searches conducted in this respect have failed to achieve any positive results, said Sridhar Poojary, brother of Jaya Poojary, who has filed the said missing complaint.

It is gathered that Jaya Poojary, who runs a canteen at Mumabai, used to visit his native place once a year. Reportedly, Jaya Poojary called his nephew (sister's son) over cellphone on February 27 to inform him that he had got down at Beluvai after travelling by a private bus from Mumbai. However, he never reached his home thereafter. Neither did he contact anyone after this call nor efforts to contact him have born fruits, it is gathered.

The police have, through a release, have requested anyone having any information about Jaya Poojary to contact the town police station (phone No: 08258-236333).

This is indeed a very serious matter calling for immediate attention by the departments concerned. A couple cannot disappear all of a sudden. It is expedient that inquiries are made immediately to ascertain whether or not the couple had any enemies or for that matter if any one was having an eye on their business.

Hope the couple will appear as otherwise the Police have a serious job to do.
