Bantwal, Mar 5: The girl from Nehru Nagar, Panemangalore near here, who had gone missing three days back, was found in the company of her lover on Friday March 3 at Bhatkal.
The 17-year-old girl in question was staying with her mother, who had recently been admitted into a private hospital at Thumbay here for medical treatment, to take care of her needs. On Thursday, a missing complaint was filed in the rural police here, after the girl disappeared all of a sudden from the hospital without any trace.
It is said that the teenager, a Muslim, who was living with her mother at home after completing SSLC education, was in love with Muhammed Hanif, driver of a tempo vehicle transporting fish. Hanif i from Bhatkal.
Station house officer of the rural staiton here, A K Rakshit, who gathered this information, led a team of police personnel to Bhatkal on Friday, traced the girl, and brought her back. She has been accommodated in the child counselling centre at Mangaluru. Hanif, who as been booked for kidnapping the girl, was produced in court whereupon he was remanded to judicial custody, it is gathered.
