Udupi, Feb 21: Priyanka Mary Francis, who is the current CEO of Udupi zilla panchayat, has been elevated to the post of deputy commissioner of Udupi district.
She will be taking over the charge from T Venkatesh.
The transfer order was issued by the state government on Tuesday February 21.
Venkatesh has been posted as managing director of Mysugar Mill (Mysore Sugar Company Ltd).
Altogether, the state government has ordered transfer of 11 officials.
An IAS officer of the 2009 batch, Priyanka Francis took charge as the CEO of Udupi ZP in November 2015. She was given the additional charge of acting DC after the transfer of the previous DC R Vishal.
Incidentally, Priyanka Francis is the fifth to take charge as DC of Udupi district after the Siddaramaiah-led Congress government came to power in 2013. Dr Muddu Mohan who took over the charge from M T Reju in 2014, was transferred in a suprise move the same year, and Pattan Shetty who came after Dr Muddu Mohan was transferred in just two months. Thereafter, R Vishal took charge of the post until his transfer in June 2016. T Venkatesh was then appointed in July 2016.
