Bengaluru, Feb 21: Personnel of Cubbon park traffic police here have arrested three persons. They are guilty of staging motor bike wheeling stunt on M G Road here and also recording it on video. The police have gathered that the youth had undertaken this adventure to upload the video on social websites like Facebook and WhatsApp in an effort to impress female acquaintances and other girls.
The arrested trio happen to be Naveen (25), an ITI student and resident of Shivanagara in Rajajinagar, car driver, Abhishek (26), resident of Jogupalya near Halasur, and Naveen (32), from Manjunath Nagar. The police have also confiscated the motor bike and car used by the accused for the adventure.
The accused had undertaken the dare-devil 'wheelie' act between 10.45 and 11 pm on February 11 from Queens Statue junction to CTO Junction. A person passing by that road, who had observed the youngsters doing this illegal and dangerous act, had captured the same on camera and passed the same over to the police.
The accused were arrested on the basis of the video footage provided by the above person and also the CCTV footage of the junctions. The accused confessed during the questioning that they wanted to upload the photos and videos of the wheeling scene in social websites in an attempt to impress girls.
Naveen, who did the wheeling act, does not have a driving licence, police have found. The silencer of the Yamaha motor bike used for the act was meddled with to make sure that it gave out loud sound. The bike's handle was also adjusted to help the wheeling act, the police stated.
