Manama (Bahrain), Feb 19: Konkani’s young music icon Kevin Misquith and his companions Jackson Noronha and Clyde Ashley Lobo were accorded a warm welcome in Bahrain on Saturday, February 18.
Bahrain Konkans, in association with Indian Club, will be organising the show at Indian Club Bahrain auditorium on Friday, February 24 at 6pm. A part of the proceedings will be donated for the education of underprivileged girls of Konkan region.
A huge group of Kevin's well-wishers, Bahrain Konkans conveners and local artistes gathered at Karnataka Social Club auditorium after Kevin and his troupe reached Manama via King Fahd Causeway after a successful show in Dammam.
A brief ceremony was held to welcome Kevin, in the presence of Bahrain Konkans conveners Vincent Sequeira, Melwyn Rodrigues, Naveen Mendonca, and Melka Miyar and senior local artistes Sydney Correa and Stany D’Souza.
Addressing the gathering, Kevin said, entering Bahrain after 26 years is a memorable moment for him. "My childhood memories are still fresh in my mind. I cannot forget the days I spent in this island. Therefore, my Bahrain show would be very special for me," he said. Kevin was born in Bahrain on January 19, 1987 as son of Elias and Violet Misquith.
Kevin also requested the gathering to make his forthcoming event a grand success.
Well-known compere Dr Vincent Alva will be the anchor of the show. ‘Kushali Kinnigoli’ famed leading Konkani comedian Royston Kiran D’souza, along with other artists, will entertain the audience with his rib-tickling comedy.

About Kevin Misquith
Kevin first emerged in the Konkani music scene in 2004 with the release of his debut album ‘Rupnem’. Since then he has never looked back and has been performing consistently providing quality music.
Following the huge response for his debut album, he released yet another Konkani hit album ‘Tuji Yaad’ in 2007. His third music album, ‘He Jeen’ in 2008 was also a huge success.
His album ‘Thembe Thembe’ has been a trend setter in Konkani music, several new experiments were done in this album by Kevin Misquith and almost every album released since then has followed the same concept.
The song and the album ‘Thembe Thembe’ was such a big hit that a host of Konkani songs on rain were released after that, almost every other album had a song on rains. His recently released music album ‘Ek Geet’ can be termed the best among all which is creating a huge buzz among music lovers all over with record sales and super hit songs.
Kevin has performed live in Mangaluru, Bengaluru, Mumbai, Goa, Kuwait, Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Muscat and Dammam for various music shows, festivals and his own live in concerts. He is the only Konkani music composer after the great legends to have performed more than 40 concerts in a quick succession at a very young age.
