Mangaluru, Feb 17: It is gathered that the police personnel have got clues about four persons accused of involvement with the murder of rowdy Kalia Rafiq, a resident of Uppala Bappayithotti, who was named as accused in several robbery and murder cases in the past. They have now laid out a net to nab them. Involvement of 'Kasai' Ali alias Noor Ali and three others in the murder has so far come to the notice of the police department.
A gang led by Kasai Ali, who leads the Kasai Gang from Uppala, had killed Kalia Rafiq near a petrol bunk at Kotekar on national highway 66 within Ullal police station limits late night on Tuesday. After firing at Rafiq and launching attack with swords, the gang had fled the scene. The police have already conducted raids on some hideouts of the gang, and it is being claimed that they have got important clues about the current location of the culprits.
Kalia Rafiq
Kalia Rafiq gang had killed Kasai Ali's brother, Mutalib, with swords in the presence of his wife. In the past too the Kasai gang had launched murderous assaults on Rafiq gang to avenge this killing, but failed in its objective. Finally the attack on Tuesday succeeded in killing Rafiq.
Zayed, said to be an associate of Rafiq, who was injured in the attack, was disharged from the hospital on Thursday February 16.
