Kasargod, Feb 14: BJP activists on Tuesday February 14 protested against the hike in fares of Kasargod-Mangaluru buses by travelling in a KSRTC bus without paying for the tickets.

The ticket fare was recently hiked by three rupees after collection of toll charges started in Talapady.

Nearly 50 activists including BJP district president K Srikanth travelled ticketless. Though the protesters paid the earlier rate of Rs 50, the conductor demanded Rs 53. Thereafter, the protesters continued their ticketless journey. They were then made to disembark near Kumble police station.
The activists returned after discussions with the police there.

Yuva Morcha district president P R Sunil, Anitha R Nayak, Manikanta Rai, Nanzil Kunhi Raman, Harish Narampady, Anitha R Nayak, K K Kayyar, K P Valsaraj, Baburaj and others led the protest.

Wonder how many of those ticketless travellers are paying income tax which is a source of revenue to the government to offer better facilities and infrastructure. Modi govt. is trying its best to bring as many defaulters into the tax system which at present is just 2.9%

Only show biz. My first question is why Police is so friendly with these goondas. Why they were not arrested for doing wrong thing and tryinmg to create trouble to public. May be they were planning to damage the bus and other Govt property. Driver must not have moved the bus unless these goondas pay full fare. Bus is not their Father's property.

Ha Ha... BJP workers should realise that price hike is because of fuel hike. And fuel hike is because of the central govt which is run by their own party.... What are they trying convey. That their party can hike prices as they like and state govt (non bjp govt) have to still subsidise and cause a loss to exchequer ... Wah re wah kya logic hain.

It seems that Police seeming to be very happy with the protest.....and my question is why did the driver join the protest by driving the bus.....he has to be suspended for moving the bus and the conductor to be fined for not doing his job and letting the bus move.

Some people are fighting for general public. If they are successful, these public are the first one to reap benefits. However, till they achieve success, the general public keep criticizing them to the best of their possibility.

Do these criticiser don't feel happy, if the bus fares are brought back to from Rs. 53 to Rs. 50? Even after that these criticisers will make another protest to increase it back to Rs. 53? Criticisers are the first ones to use the benefits..... :-)

    Hight of pseudoism.... .

3 rupees no change. 50/- is already too high. Why don't ksrtc pay toll by making low margin?

They can't pay 3 Rupees more??? Why they are not questioning Modi govt for increasing the diesel price on daily basis? Looks like BJP cadres were happy enjoying with free journey and may be CPM activists were not there at the spot!!!
