Bengaluru, Feb 12: Opposition leader in the Legislative Council K E Eshwarappa, surprised everyone on Saturday February 12, when he said that he will directly involve himself in Rayanna Brigade activities.
Only days back he had said that he will not be part of Rayanna Brigade after BJP chief Amit Shah brokered a ‘peace deal’ between Eshwarappa and state BJP chief Yeddyurappa after summoning both of them to New Delhi. Prior to that, two senior state leaders from BJP fought their war in public relating to Rayanna Brigade founded by Eshwarappa. While Eshwarappa maintained that he would hold rallies of Rayanna Brigade for the betterment of backward classes, Yeddyurappa said that Eshwarappa cannot do so while he was in BJP. Once the meeting in teh presence of Amit Shah was held, Eshwarappa changed his tune and said that though Brigade will continue, he would not be part of it.
Now within days, Eshwarappa’s new revelation will definitely shake Yeddyurappa.
Eshwarappa with Yeddyurappa
Speaking to reporters before a meeting of Rayanna Brigade on Saturday, Eshwarappa said “I will directly involve myself in Brigade activities. When I was called with Yeddyurappa to New Delhi by Amit Shah, I was advised to carry on with Brigade activities by stopping my political work. Accordingly, we will discuss Brigade activities today in our meeting. Office bearers from all districts have arrived for the meeting.”
“Brigade is not a political organisation. It works for backward classes as a social organisation. We will consolidate our positions in parts of the state.” Eshwarappa added.
He also said that h will hold a meeting with Yeddyurappa after holding talks with the office bearers of Brigade from district level.
Eshwarappa said the matter of Brigade leaders receiving notice from BJP will not be discussed in the meeting.
Meanwhile, present move of Eshwarappa has been taken as a tactic to project his might in political circles especially as leader of backward classes.
