Mangaluru, Feb 10: Sources say that the sharp shooters who were arrested when planning to help Dinesh Shetty, currently lodged in Hindalga Jail at Belagavi, to flee from jail, have revealed during their interrogation that a plan to murder Sri Ram Sene leader, Prasad Attavar, had been hatched.

Prasad Attavar was to attend hearing in a court here on February 15 relating to the allegation that he happens to be an accomplice of underworld fugitive, Ravi Poojary. The gang wanted to kill him when Prasad was to be brought to the court for this hearing. It is said that the conspiracy to kill Prasad was conceptualized at the behest of Dinesh Shetty, who is said to be an associate of Ravi Poojary.

The six sharp shooters taken into custody from Belagavi when they were planning to rob someone, have already confessed to have robbed an areca nut merchant when he was moving in a car from near Aivarnad, Sullia, to finance the jail break plan.

Dinesh Shetty is undergoing imprisonment relating to his alleged involvement with the murder of an advocate from the city, Naushad Kashimji, in 2010.
