Dubai: Kumaraswamy felicitated, to attend BCF World Kannadiga Convention in May

Dubai, Feb 8: Bearys Cultural Forum (BCF) Trust - UAE and Mangaluru conducted felicitation function to honour former chief minister of Karnataka and president of Janata Dal (Secular) H D Kumaraswamy, secretary general of Janata Dal (Secular) and CMD of Fiza Group of Companies B M Farook and other dignataries.

Apart from H D Kumaraswamy and B M Farook, C S Puturaj, member of Parliament, Sara Mahesh, MLA, K T Srikantagowda, MLC, N Appajigowda, MLC, Kantaraji, MLC, Ben Chikkaswamy, NRI representative, USA, Ravikumar, mayor, Mysuru, Ramakrishna Gowda from Adichunchanagiri Math, Dr Amarnath Gowda, attorney, Srinivas and Vishwanath were present as guests of honour.

Kumaraswamy in his address praised BCF for its valuable service to the society. He said that the hospitality and generosity of BCF members shown was highly appreciable. Kumaraswamy also applauded the BCF for its patriotism and particularly pin-pointed its love, concern and affection. He also stated that BCF has always upheld the value and cultural heritage of the state of Karnataka, its culture and Kannada as language in the foreign land. He promised that he would support BCF in its every endeavour of social service. He also promised that he and his colleagues w ould attend the forthcoming World Kannadiga Convention for Arts and Culture 2017 scheduled to be held in May at the Great Ballroom, Le Meridien Hotel, Dubai.

He also promised to maintain communal harmony and peace amongst the people of Karnataka. He also further stated that he would initiate setting up a Muslim University in the state of Karnataka managed and administered by educated Muslim scholars and academically supported by other members of the society in the state.

B M Farook, secretary general of JD(S) introduced the former chief minister of Karnataka Kumaraswamy. Farook is also the NRI patron of BCF. He elaborated about his secular outlook and commitment and concern for the poor masses of Karnataka. He informed about the origin of Beary community. B M Farook also praised BCF’s selfless service to the society particularly in the field of education. He also mentioned about the forthcoming event World Kannadiga Convention for Arts and Culture 2017 being organised by Bearys Cultural Forum and appealed Kumaraswamy to provide support and attend this Convention.

Dr Kaup Mohamed, general secretary of BCF on behalf of the Dr B K Yusuf, president of the BCF welcomed H D Kumaraswamy and B M Farook, and all other dignataries including MLAs and MLCs and the mayor. Dr Kaup mentioned about the state of Karnataka being an IT hub of India and also one of the vibrant states producing maximum number of doctors. Dr Kaup also said that JD(S) has provided support to the poor people by providing variety of schemes including grains at concessional rates, etc.

Dr Kaup also mentioned that the BCF will organize the World Kannadiga Convention for Arts and Culture 2017 in order to create and promote an integrated value chain of contribution of distinct arts and culture existing in the state of Karnataka with a strategic view of understanding the values and beliefs of the diverse linguistic and ethnicity. He said that more than 1,500 people from the NRI community of Karnataka are going to attend this World Kannadiga Convention 2017 scheduled on May 5 this year.

M E Moolur, vice-president of BCF gave a brief introduction of the Association. He highlighted that BCF consists of Bearys but it belongs to all Kannadigas irrespective of any caste or creed, and even though away from homeland, Kannada and Karnataka will always be in the heart of the BCF. He informed that BCF has awarded scholarships to about 13,000 students from PUC to postgraduation, in various courses like medicine, engineering, Ulema, nursing, management etc.

Latif Mulky, vice-president of BCF informed about BCF's World Kannadiga Convention in detail and requested all guests to attend the programme. He briefed about the events to be conducted during this mega meet of art and culture.

BCF felicitated H D Kumaraswamy and B M Farook by handing over bouquets and shawls as a mark of respect and appreciation. Similarly, all other dignataries, namely C S Puturaj, Sara Mahesh, K T Srikantagowda, N Appajigowda, Kantaraji, Ben Chikkaswamy, Ravikumar, Ramakrishna Gowda, Dr Amarnath Gowda, Srinivas and Vishwanath were also felicitated by the BCF.

Rehman Sajpa recited verses from the Quran. Afeeq Hussain, vice-president of BCF proposed the vote of thanks.

    They are here on their self designed commercial benefit and not for our better future. Hence not to respond much on their present UAE visit.
