New Delhi, Feb 1 (IANS): Giving an outline of the philosophy that decided the shape of the Union Budget 2017-18, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Wednesday also unveiled the government's agenda for the next financial year in the form of an acronym -- "TEC".
TEC, an acronym encapsulating the vision to "Transform, Energise, Clean India", was announced by the Finance Minister, marking the beginning of the annual budget for the next fiscal year.
He then set down to entail the fuller meanings of these precepts as: "Transform the quality of governance and quality of life of our people; Energise various sections of society, especially the youth and the vulnerable, and enable them to unleash their true potential; and Clean the country from the evils of corruption, black money and non-transparent political funding."
Jaitley further classified the agenda into 10 sub-themes -- farmers, rural population, youths, poor and underprivileged, infrastructure, financial sector, digital economy, public service, prudent fiscal management, and tax administration -- that guide the the overall agenda of the government.
