Mangaluru: Sir Sabaratnam Arul Kumaran to visit FMMCH on January 22

Mangaluru, Jan 19: Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology , Father Muller Medical College, Mangaluru, in association with Mangalore Obstetrics and Gynaecological Society will play host to Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran  professor of OBG from St George's university , London at the continuing medical education (CME) 'EVOLVE' at the Decennial Memorial Hall in the college, on Sunday, January 22, at 5 PM.

Globally renowned Professor Sir Sabaratnam Arulkumaran will be the guest of honour, and his arrival is well anticipated in the fraternity. The obstetric and gynaecology departments of all the medical colleges in the city are all set to be inspired by him this weekend for the Obstetric CME at the college in a stimulating post-graduate teaching and discussion session.

Past president of the Royal College of Obstetrician and Gynaecologists and the International Federation of Gynecologists, Sir Sabaratnam has many accolades to his credit. Prominent among them and a proud achievement for him is the privilege of being named a Knight Bachelor for the Queen's Birthday Honors List in June 2009 for his services in the field of medicine.

He is the primary author of many academic texts that are used for post-graduate teaching including 'The management of labour'. A man of humility and grace, his passion lies in clinical research and post-graduate teaching.

The obstetric and gynaecology departments of the medical colleges in Mangaluru eagerly await inspiration from the outstanding personality this weekend at the held at FMMCH.

The programme will comprise a session that will cover 'Difficulties in interpreting CTG' and 'Non-technical skills for clinicians'. This will be followed by 'Meet the expert', a candid session with obstetric post-graduates. To conclude, a session covering 'Obstetric Sepsis', 'Dissecting evidence in obstetrics' and 'Quality indicators in obstetrics', will be held. Dinner follows.
