In the meanwhile, protests are being held at various places in the state in protest against this incident.
How Umesh planned rape
ASI Umesh told his colleagues while on night patrol that he was dropping the girl to her house. He asked them to remain where they were. Then he asked a Bolero vehicle owner to lend his vehicle to drop the girl. The Bolero owner gave his vehicle with the driver. The Bolero was parked at that time on the roadside. It is common at that place to find many vehicles as they are engaged in stone crushing and sand transportation business even during night.
Umesh raped the girl twice in the Bolero vehicle. Then he dropped her at 4.30 am. He acted as if nothing happened with his colleagues.
The Bolero vehicle allegedly belonged to a person who is into illegal sand trading, it is claimed.
The Bolero driver now has been made second accused.
