Panaji, Dec 27: Goa chief minister Laxmikant Parsekar today said the benefits of the state government schemes have touched every household for the first time in any of the government.

“BJP-led state government has touched every household through its schemes during the last five years,” Parsekar said addressing the meeting at Cortalim constituency.

“There will not be a single person who has not reaped the benefit of the schemes floated by the state government. We have reached every household through our initiatives like Grih Adhar, Ladli Lakshmi and Dayanand Social Security Scheme,” the chief minister said.

Parsekar said the schemes have benefitted even those who are supporting Congress or other parties. “I am not ready to listen to statements like state government has not done any development. This is the first government which has reached every household and everyone is reaping the benefits,” he added.

Citing an example, Parsekar said BJP led government after assuming power in the year 2012 abolished VAT on petrol bringing down the prices by Rs 11 per litre. “At present, petrol costs Rs 59 per litre in Goa while in neighbouring states it is Rs 75 per litre which means after every litre, state government is repaying Rs 15 to the consumer,” he calculated.

“Every time you fill petrol, you are saving money. This is due to the initiative of the state government which had promised that it will not allow petrol price to cross Rs 60 per litre limit. We have kept up our promise,” he said.

Admitting that the state is funding all the schemes from the money calculated from state exchequer, Parsekar questioned why former governments could not initiate such a step.
