Udupi, Dec 23: Sri Sridharananda Saraswati Swamiji, 25 was coronated chief (trustee) of ‘Savitha Samaj Peetha’ of Kalburgi. Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji of Paryaya Pejawar math administered mantra deeksha at Rajangana here on Thursday December 22.
He is the first Dharmadhikari of Savitha Samaj math. ‘Sri Savitha Maharshi samsthana’ will soon be built in Kalburgi.
Sridharananda Saraswati Swamiji is the first son of H Anjaneya and Padmavati. They reside at Chittapur taluk of Kalburgi. His father is an assistant manager at State Bank of Hyderabad.
Swamiji has two younger siblings namely Nagashri, an engineer and a brother, named Sachidananda, a mechanical engineer.
Swamiji was born into a well cultured and spiritual background. Swamiji has completed SSLC education. He did his second to fifth standard at Siddhaganga math and sixth to SSLC at Sri Adichunchanagiri Mahasamsthana math. He then completed Vedic studies in Sanskrit, customs, and religious rituals and has engaged himself in social service since the past two years. The swamiji has also been running a ‘Go shala’ since three years at his hometown, in Kalburgi. He will now stay at Varnashram for three years and then decide on taking sanyasa deeksha inspired on him by Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji.
Speaking to media persons he said, "Nowadays, Savitha Samaj people are employed as barbers, as it is an ancestral trade. There is an Ayush Karma in Savitha Samaj which consists of music, yoga and many other activities. Hence, they have decided to construct a samasthana to protect Hindu dharma along with ancient culture and protect cows as well.
Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji said, "I administered ‘mantra and bhakti deeksha’ and coronated him with all the Hindu rituals as per Saraswati Swamiji's desire and the community's as well. He will work as Dharmadhikari at Savitha samaj math. Quoting Madhwacharya, Pejawar Swamiji said, "Anyone who takes bhakti deeksha is considered equal to a Brahmin."
Ganapati pooja, Navagraha pooja, Mudra dharana, kalashabhisheka and many other religious rituals led by Vittalachar were held as part of the initiation.
