Mumbai, Jan 24: Actors Shah Rukh Khan and Preity Zinta, business tycoons Mukesh Ambani and Vijay Mallya were among the winners of the bids for the eight franchises for the Indian cricket board's upcoming Twenty20 Indian Premier League (IPL).
Shah Rukh Khan has won the bid for the Kolkata team while Preity Zinta has bagged the rights for the Chandigarh team.
Mukesh Ambani will own the Mumbai team, Vijay Mallya the Bangalore team and GMR Holdings the side from Delhi.
Jaipur went to the Emerging Media group, Hyderabad to Deccan Chronicle and Chennai to India Cements.
The winners for the eight teams were Mukesh Ambani (Mumbai), Vijay Mallya (Bangalore), Shah Rukh Khan (Kolkata), Preity Zinta (Chandigarh), Emerging Media (Jaipur), Deccan Chronicle (Hyderabad), India Cements (Chennai) and GMR Group (Delhi).
