Yokohama (Japan), Dec 16 (IANS): Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane has said that the Video Assistant Referee (VAR) system being used at the ongoing Club World Cup here causes confusion, though he acknowledged that he has to adapt to whatever FIFA wants to do.
The former France star made his remarks in a press conference on Thursday following Real Madrid's 2-0 victory over Club America in the semi-finals, while the VAR system validated the second goal of the Spanish team, reports Efe news agency.
"I have my ideas and with the second goal there was a little confusion, it's true," the manager said.
"The problem is that we have to adapt to what FIFA wants to do," Zidane explained, according to the Spanish club's official website.
The controversial VAR system was used twice in the tournament -- to validate Real Madrid's second goal on Thursday and to award a penalty on Wednesday to Kashima Antlers, who also advanced to Sunday's final.
"If it improves things it will improve football, but things need to be clearer," Zidane added.
