Isinbayeva stresses Russia has fulfilled all IAAF requirements

Moscow, Dec 12 (IANS): Russias membership in the International Association of Athletics Federations (IAAF) is to be resumed as the All-Russia Athletics Federation (ARAF) has fulfilled all of its requirements, double Olympic pole vault champion Yelena Isinbayeva, who is now chief of the RUSADA Supervisory Board, has said.

Russia's membership in IAAF was suspended in November 2015. Russian track and field athletes are barred from international competitions, including the Olympic Games, reports Tass.

"I want to believe soon they will find a compromise," portal insidethegames.com quoted her as saying on Sunday.

"We have done everything they asked - we did it even before Rio 2016. I hope soon that we can compete internationally otherwise we will have no chance to develop the sport in Russia, we lose visibility otherwise."

"We must find a solution as the worst thing has happened already - we missed the Olympic Games. Russia must be allowed back. A line needs to be drawn under the situation, otherwise it could go on for years," she said.
