Mumbai, Dec 12 (IANS): The key Indian equity indices on Monday opened in the red following global concerns and uncertainty over goods and services tax implementation targeted deadline of April 1 next year.
The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 124.20 points or 0.46 per cent lower soon after opening.
The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was trading 42.30 points or 0.51 per cent lower at 8,219.45 points.
The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 26,725.31 points, was trading at 26,622.98 points (at 9.16 a.m.), lower 124.20 points or 0.46 per cent from the previous day's close at 26,747.18 points.
The Sensex touched a high of 26,725.31 points and a low of 26,621.11 points in the trade so far.
