Key Indian equity indices open in green

Mumbai, Oct 3 (IANS): The key Indian equity indices on Monday opened in green following firm Asian cues.

The 30-scrip Sensitive Index (Sensex), was trading 158.88 points or 0.57 per cent higher soon after opening.

The wider 51-scrip Nifty of the National Stock Exchange (NSE) was also trading 51.65 points or 0.60 per cent higher at 8,662.80 points.

The Sensex of the BSE, which opened at 27,997.29 points, was trading at 28,024.84 points (at 9.17 a.m.), higher 158.88 points or 0.57 per cent from the previous day's close at 27,865.96 points.

The Sensex touched a high of 28,030.01 points and a low of 27,986.67 points in the trade so far.
