Udupi, Sep 7: Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo of Udupi diocese laid the foundation stone for Don-Bosco CBSE School, at Shirva on Wednesday September 7.
Bishop Gerald Isaac Lobo in his blessings said, “I am happy that a year-long dream has finally come true. It was my dream to start CBSE School in five zones namely Kundapur, Udupi, Shirva, Kallianpur and Karkala. It has already been opened at Kundapur and Udupi. The education institution is not only for Catholic community but it belongs to all communities.”
“The school intends to promote children with quality education without discrimination of caste, religion and creed. Children should win over competing with competitive world.” Bishop added.
Fr Lawrence D’souza, secretary, Catholic Education society recalling the services of Saint Mother Theresa said, “She had just five rupees in her hand, but now sisters are working all over the world. This CBSE school project is starting with mighty scheme with fewer funds.”
“The school provides value based education for students who live in and around the city. The school also imparts discipline, neatness and punctuality. This would be helpful to all students in their future life,” Fr Lawrence added.
Bishop celebrated the Holy Mass and novena at Our Lady of health Church Shirva on the occasion. A prayer also was held on the occasion led by Bishop.
Fr Mahesh, principal of Don Bosco School, Fr Canute Neronha, assistant, parish priest, Fr Felix Serao, Don Bosco youth centre, Wilson D’Souza, vice president, Shirva church, Wilson Rodrigues, zilla panchayat member, William Machado, secretary, parish council, Deepika Shallet, Micheal D'Souza, Melwyn Aranha, Melwyn D'Souza and others were present.
Fr Stany Tauro, parish priest Our Lady of health Church, Shirva welcomed the gathering.
