Bhiwani, Dec 9: After running from pillar to post, a man here has moved the court to get back his legally-wed wife, who was forcibly taken by her family members.
Vikas Goel, a resident of Singhani village in the district, tied the knot with a girl belonging to different caste at Arya Samaj temple in Jaipur in the presence of a lawyer and other witnesses, prosecution said.
The duo was also provided the necessary documents for a legal wedding.
However, Goel alleged that two days later when they contacted their respective parents about the wedlock, the family members of his wife forcibly took her along with them and also destroyed the documents related to their marriage.
Goel also accused his in-laws of beating him up when he went to his wife's village to bring her back.
After the requests for help to the Superintendent of Police, the District Collector and even the Chief Minister went unheeded, Goel has now filed an application in the district court, his counsel Sanjeev Tanwar said.
Their marriage was in accordance with the Hindu Marriage Act and the court has directed the girl and her father to appear before it on January 5, he said.
