- Enthusiasts can learn hip-hop, bhangra and salsa at the choreographers’ dance academy in the Gulf
Mumbai, Dec 7: If Indian choreographers Bosco and Caesar have their way, there won’t be anyone with two left feet in Dubai. Their new dance academy Bosco Caesar Dance Company (BCDC) that has opened in the country aims to make people, get their jhatkas and matkas right.
And, it’s not just Indians who have joined the school, which started in November. “Sixty per cent of them are Westerners,” states Bosco adding, “We are offering a chance to be a part of our dance troupe on Bollywood sets and stage shows around the world.”
It’s been 17 years since the two of them have been around the film industry. “I think we really made a mark with ‘Musafir’. For ‘Sakhi’ we worked on everything, right down to the costumes,” says Bosco.
Incidentally, Bosco is just back from doing a music video for a friend down South and is taking a breather in Mumbai. With his partner Caesar, he has recently completed two songs for ‘God Tussi Great Ho’. “The first is a title track and the other is ‘Lal chunariya’, a romantic number. “Salman (Khan) wanted me to do them,” he says, adding, “It was fun. We had 20 dancers from London and it was great to see firangs grooving to Bollywood numbers.”
With their recent hits that include ‘Partner’ and ‘Jab We Met’, the duo is getting set for the film ‘Race’. “Almost all the tracks in the film are cool numbers that everyone will enjoy,” he says, quickly adding, “They’re not hip-hop though. Everyone thinks Bosco-Caesar must be hip-hop, but that’s not what we are about. We would rather be known as hardcore Bollywood.”
While ‘Hello’ with Sohail Khan, Isha Koppikar and Sharman Joshi is on the anvil, next year the two are also planning to open their dance academy in aamchi Mumbai.
