Aurangabad, Nov 19: Bollywood mega superstar Amitabh Bachchan has said he wants to help the mentally challenged children in all possible way.
Speaking at a musical programme 'Adnan Sami Live' organised by Swyamsidha Society here, to raise funds for Vivek Singh School for the Mentally Challenged recently, Bachchan recalled those days when he felt "handicapped" at times after meeting with accidents during his shootings.
"Many accidents left some or the other part of my body affected for a while. I realised (how it felt) being handicapped in those moments. However, I have recovered by the grace of God, skills of doctors and prayer of millions of my fans," he said, adding he and his wife Jaya Bachchan have been associated with many organisations working for mentally disabled children.
Noted ghazal singer Jagjit Singh presided over the function. Other dignitaries who were present on the occasion included Adnan Sami , comedian Raju Shrivastav and child artist Ayesha Kapoor.
Earlier, Bachchan inaugurated the new building of the school, named after the late son of Jagjit Singh, at a function held in Waladgaon on the outskirts of Aurangabad.
Bachchan inspected the premises of the school, interacted with inmates and planted some saplings there.
