Udupi, Jul 7: Kaup MLA and former minister Vinay Kumar Sorake visited places where sea erosion has been reported at Udyavara Padukere Kanakoda on Thursday, July 7 and said that breakwater walls will be constructed to prevent sea erosion.
He said that Rs 99 crores and Rs 100 crores respectively have been approved for the construction of 4.9 kilometres permanent breakwater wall at Padukere and 4.1 kilometres Breakwater wall at Ermal Thenka area.
“The project work will be started in September 2016 after completing the tender process,” he said.
Sorake contacted the deputy commissioner from the place and directed him to put stone boulders at the places as temporary measure to prevent sea erosion.
The MLA was accompanied by panchayat president Sugandhi Shekar, former panchayat members Girish Kumar, Nagesh Udyavar Bolje, Mahabala Kunder and Riaz Palli.
