Mangaluru, Jul 7: “In every sphere of life, we need good leaders. Communication is the key to success. Communication skills are essential for providing inspiring leadership,” said Dr M S Moodithaya, registrar, Nitte University. He was addressing the installation ceremony of office bearers for the year 2014-15 of Winners Club Toastmasters as the chief guest on Sunday July 3 at Hotel Goldfinch in the city.
The well known academician and management educator was visibly thrilled that many of his former students were the office bearers of the club and congratulated the new team. Continuous learning and experimentation are required to achieve any kind of transformation, he said. Hence taking the initiative is all important. “Unless you come to the podium, unless you make an attempt, nothing is going to happen,” he advised. “In public speaking both form and content are important. But between the two, content is more important. Excellence in both is an advantage.”

Outgoing president Shivani Baliga thanked all for enabling the club to attain 22 Toastmasters achievements and recognitions – the highest number so far for the club.
In his acceptance speech Bhaskar Kiran asked the members to make every meeting a more enjoyable experience. He also urged the members to participate and win prizes in more competitions.
