Bengaluru, Jul 7: State chief minister, Siddaramaiah, confirmed that the Mysuru police will be acting against Congress party activist, K Marigowda, based on a complaint made by district deputy commissioner, C Shikha, of obstructing her from discharging duties and using filthy words against her at the travellers bungalow.
In this connection, it is gathered that the gunman of the deputy commissioner was questioned in the presence of assistant commissioner of police, Rajashekhar, at Nazarbad police station on Wednesday July 6.
In the meanwhile, K Marigowda has filed an application for bail in the seventh additional district court at Mysuru through his advocate. Although a number of people including media persons tried to contact him, he was not available either in person or over phone.
In the meanwhile, there is information that Marigowda's anger against the DC, C Shikha, was also flared up because of cancellation of bar licence of his friend by the deputy commissioner. Marigowda, who had become angry at the incident, tried to turn scales against the DC by raking up the issue of transfer of tahsildar, Naveen Joseph, as per information gathered. The DC had cancelled the bar licence issued to Chitravana Resort standing on Manandawadi Road without renewing it for violation of licence norm. The resort is within 100 metres distance from the state highway and therefore, did not have eligibility to get licence, it is said.
