Man arrested for sexually harassing woman, produced in court

Kundapur, Jul 2: Gangolli police, on Thursday June 30, arrested a person for harassing a young woman for long time and for attempting to rape her on Wednesday.

Sooraj (19) from Bavikatte near Gangolli is the accused person.

Sooraj who works a coolie used to harass the woman who was working in a tailoring shop while she walked to her workplace every day. He used to force her to get married. On Wednesday morning, Sooraj came from behind and tried to hug her with the intention of raping her. The woman shouted for help and Sooraj ran away from the spot, it is alleged.

The woman then went to Gangolli police station to lodge complaint. The police arrested Sooraj and produced him in court on Thursday.
