Kundapur, Jun 28: The first taluk panchayat meeting of Kundapur on Tuesday June 28, chaired by Taluk panchayat president Jayashree turned out to be insipid due to lack of experience. There was no enthusiasm as no discussions were held on serious matters.
The demand for bus on Amparu Shankeranarayana road by member Umesh Shetty Amparu echoed again. He said that protests after blocking the road will be held if the problem was not solved within next ten days. Members Vasudev Pai and Vijaya Shetty supported the argument.
Raju Devadiga demanded strict action against bus driver of Trasi tragedy. “He had hit a bike in the past and two people had died but no action was taken against him. His driving license should be cancelled at least now,” he said.
Inspect and provide funds:
Kumbhasi constituency member Jyothi Putran urged that the officials should inspect government schools and provide funds for repairs wherever necessary. Raju Devadiga, Dastagir Saheb, Narayana Gujjadi and Indira Shetty joined their voice for it.
Investigation urged:
“The existing building is demolished before preparing to build bus stand and commercial complex without obtaining approval from Taluk panchayat and Zilla panchayat. The PDO should answer to the meeting,” urged Umesh Shetty Kalgadde.
“Gangolli gram panchayat building is inaugurated without holding emergency meeting of gram panchayat members. It should be investigated under the leadership of gram panchayat and action should be taken against the PDO,” said member Surendra Kharvi.
The executive official said that a notice is served to the PDO. Nodal officers will be appointed for the investigation. The members urged for immediate appointment of nodal officers. She said that Akshara Dasoha deputy director Seetharama Shetty will be appointed as investigating officer.
Serious discussion on 94C:
Member Chandrashekar Shetty asked the number of applications received under 94C in the taluk and how many of them are approved. Member Jagadish Poojary said that house tax receipt was being asked for payment of tax before 2012. The Village accountant should be clearly advised to prevent confusion.
Pushparaj Shetty said that the beneficiaries under 94C should not have other sites in their names.
Karun Poojary complained of lack of drinking water pipe connections. Mahendra Poojary urged Mescom officials to meet the power needs of people. While Surendra Kharvi alleged that members are ignored with regard to the inauguration of Gangolli gram panchayat building inauguration, Raju Devadiga said that Vidhana parishat members and Zilla panchayat members have participated in it. Surendra Kharvi said that the PDO should have called an emergency meeting and discussed with the members which he did not do.
