Karkal, Jun 27: “A customer should not be confined to business. Good rapport and relationships with the customer bring about development. With it the individual, society and business can achieve progress.

When the customer is seen only with business in mind, he can only receive interest from the bank,” said Attur St Lawrence church parish priest Fr George Thomas D'Souza. He spoke after inaugurating the newly shifted branch of MCC Bank in Karkal.
































Church priest Fr Josvy Fernandes speaking after blessing the branch, said that the bank's aim is everybody's progress. “Hard work is necessary to reach the goal. Only then we can achieve success,” he said.

KMES educational institute president K S Imthiaz speaking after inaugurating the business cabin said that customer's satisfaction is the foundation for the prosperity of the bank. “Pygmy deposits are the hope of the common man,” he said.

Former MLA H Gopala Bhandary speaking on the occasion, said that the contributions of Catholics to education and health sectors in undivided Dakshina Kannada district are immense. “It is necessary that banks stress on social work instead of only making profit,” he said.

MCC Bank chairman Francis Cutinho presided over the programme. In his presidential address, Francis Cutinho said that MCC bank was promoted 103 years back by some individuals who were inclined to function with mutual cooperation. "Our bank recorded total turnover of Rs 600 crore during the year 2015-16. We have introduced core banking system. For enabling customers to get more benefit, SMS banking, ATM, online banking and NRI facilities will be extended shortly. We are also reducing interest rates on loans to help customers and increase business of the bank. The bank helps people willing to avail loans against pledge of gold ornaments by passing the transactions in separate room within minutes, duly maintaining confidentiality. I thank each one of you for attending this function and making the programme of shifting the branch a grand success," he stated.

Directors of the bank, Andrew D'Souza, Denis D'Souza, Melvyn D'Souza, Anil Lobo, Sevrine Lobo, Marcel D'Souza, Raymond Monteiro, Archibald Menezes, Alwyn Satrov, Sunil Menezes, building owner Naveen Devadiga and others were present. 

Jerald D'Silva welcomed the gathering.  Branch manager Sharan Pinto proposed the vote of thanks.
