Mangaluru, Jun 24: The Cause group of St Aloysius PU college organised an outreach programme for the distribution of notebooks to the less privileged students.
The first event was held on June 13 at Alangana at St Aloysius PU College. This programme was presided by Madan, sub-inspector of police Mangaluru north police station. Other dignitaries were Fr Melwin Mendonca SJ, principal of St Aloysius PU college and Dr Pradeep M, dean of commerce of the same. About 150 students were given books for their new academic year.
The second programme was held on July, 22 for the students of St Aloysius evening college. This auspicious event was honoured by the presence of Lancelot Pinto, corporator of Mangaluru. The rector of St Aloysius college, Fr Dianysius Vas SJ and the finance officer Fr John Bosco SJ.
The books were donated by the Cause group. They are an organisation of students from St Aloysius College who strive to make a better world for those less privileged. They have been organising these outreach programmes since 2014.
They hope to build a better future for all. Team members of Cause, Suhan Alva, Mohammed Shawaz and other members were also present.
