Kundapur, Jun 23: A youth fell into a pond belonging to his family and used for prawns farming when working there and drowned. The incident occurred at Padukone in the taluk within the limits of Gangolli police station. Reportedly, the youth collapsed suddenly into the pond on account of low blood pressure.
The unfortunate victim of this tragic incident has been identified as Joy Nazareth (19), a resident of Beskoor, Paduvari, near Byndoor.
Joy was the son of George and Prameela from Beskoor. He used to work as a car mechanic. On Wednesday June 22, he had come to the prawns farm pond belonging to his family. While working there, he suddenly suffered low blood pressure, fell into the pond, and drowned. The fact that he had drowned came to light some time later, after which policemen were informed.
Joy is survived by parents, two sisters and a brother.
Gangolli police sub-inspector, Subbanna and other personnel visited the spot and undertook investigation. A case stands registered at Gangolli police station about this incident.
