Bidar, Nov 5: Former minister P G R Sindhia lashed out against JD(S) supremo H D Deve Gowda as the most opportunistic politician the Janata Parivar had seen.
He was addressing a press conference here on Saturday. Gowda had finished the political careers of Veerendra Patil, Ramkrishna Hegde and S R Bommai. The JD(S) had become the personal property of Gowda and his family. Where was the real JD(S) which was formed after Jaiprakash Narayan Movement, he asked. The present leaders in JD(S) were in no way associated with the JP movement.
On JD(S) leader M P Prakash, all that Sindhia was willing to say was that he was humiliated. Gowda should take lessons on how former prime ministers should behave after retirement from Atal Bihari Vajpayee and I K Gujral so that the rest of his political life will be peaceful and he can live longer, he added.
He demanded that the Governor should recommend the dissolution of assembly to pave way for fresh elections. He said he would personally meet the Governor and request dissolution of the assembly, he added.
BSY flayed
He criticised the frequent change in stand of BJP leaders on power sharing issue. Why did Yeddyurappa urge the Governor to dissolve the assembly and even set out on a state-wide Dharma Yatra and now withdraw the Yatra and now urge the Governor to invite him to form a coalition government with the BJP, he asked.
Such change in stand had forced people to believe that BJP was after power, he said.
Sindhia also doubted the stability of a government which could be formed by the BJP-JD(S) coalition. Sindhia admitted that technically he was with the JD(S) and would continue to do so until the remaining period of the present house.
After finishing his term in the present assembly he would join the BSP officially, he added.
He refused to divulge details about his future plans by saying that he would reveal details at an appropriate time about people who would quit JD(S) and join BSP along with him.
