Mangaluru, Jun 9: To disburse the impending compensation to the land owners who gave up their land towards construction of the national highway from Nanthoor to Thalapady and Surathkal to Mulki, a revenue adhalath will be convened at mini Vidhana Soudha on Saturday June 11," disclosed A B Ibrahim, deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada.
Addressing media persons at his office he said, "The adhalath will begin at 10 am. In accordance with the national highway 66 (17), around 56.72 hectares land has been acquired from 17 villages out of which compensation has been disbursed to the owners of 34.51 hectares and compensation worth Rs 50.62 crore for 22.21 hectare land is yet to be distributed."
"Among the ones who received compensation, 376 applied for arbitration of land value at the DC court and this request has been accepted. Among 376 cases compensation has been disbursed only to 87 cases and the rest are impending due to various reasons. Hence, the ones who are yet to settle their cases may approach the adhalath with relevant land documents and have their claims settled on the spot," he added.
Zila panchayat CEO Shreevidya, ADC Kumar, DHO Dr Ramakrishna and others were present.
