Mumbai, May 5 (IANS): The public cloud services market in India is projected to grow 30.4 percent this year to reach $1.26 billion, market research firm Gartner said on Thursday.
The highest growth will come from the cloud system infrastructure-as-a-service (IaaS) which is projected to grow 32.5 percent in 2016 while platform-as-a-service (PaaS) is projected to grow 31.7 percent to $82.1 million.
“We are witnessing a shift from the legacy IT services to cloud-based services. Cloud services are growing due to organisations pursuing a digital business strategy,” said Sid Nag, research director at Gartner, in a statement.
The IaaS segment will remain the fastest growing segment in 2016.
“IaaS continues to be the strongest-growing segment as enterprises move away from data center build-outs and move their infrastructure needs to the public cloud," Nag added.
