Rio de Janeiro, April 21 (IANS): Indian shooters Gagan Narang and Chain Singh will be vying for a spot in the final of the men's 50m Rifle Prone event after coming through unscathed in the elimination rounds on the sixth day of the International Shooting Sport Federation (ISSF) World Cup (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun) being held at the Olympic Shooting Centre here.
Gagan, an Olympic bronze medallist, posted a score of 620 in his elimination round to finish 11th while Chain shot 622.5 to be placed sixth.
The Indian duo were among the 56 contestants out of 97 who made it through to the qualification round.
Sanjeev Rajput, the third Indian in the fray, was not that lucky. He notched up a score of 617.3 in his elimination round to end up in the 31st position.
In the only medal event of the day on Wednesday, the women's 25m Pistol, Maria Grozdeva of Bulgaria snatched the gold from Jingjing Zhang of China while Olena Kostevych of Ukraine landed the bronze.
India's Heena Sidhu had a score of 568 points in the event to finish 41st.
