New Delhi, April 3 (IANS): India and Delhi Dynamos FC star striker Robin Singh believes that the Indian Super League (ISL) side’s grassroots programme initiative will help aspiring footballers in North India reach great heights.
Dynamos kicked off their grassroots programme for 2016 with an open trial on March 30 which saw a whopping turnout of over 350 players out of which they shortlisted about 120 kids. These shortlisted kids took part in the final round of selections on Sunday at the New Willingdon Ground in Chanakyapuri here.
At this festival, the coaches from Dynamos, along with coaches appointed by the ISL, selected the best talents. The top 120 players selected from the open trials along with further scouted players from the club’s various grassroots initiatives formed the cream of the talent for the festival.
The trials were jointly conducted by Dynamos coaches and Reliance Foundation Young Champs Coaches in assistance with their team of Elite Coaches.
“It is amazing that Delhi Dynamos is doing so much for aspiring footballers in North India. I wholeheartedly support the multiple initiatives launched by the Club. It is a great pleasure to see the drive and zeal in all the kids and I am sure this will allow them to reach great heights,” Robin said in a release on Sunday.
Ace striker Robin interacted and encouraged the children present at the event. The striker also interacted with every aspirant giving them tips to improve their game.
