Mumbai, Oct 4: "Sports has been linked to peace of mind. Kabaddi has been a traditional sport which increases mental agility as a bonus for engaging in bodily exercise. It is the sport wherein the physical strength and mental agility are equally displayed. It is not advisable to be engaged in talk, instead to encourage the sport which brings delight for the sport enthusiasts,” said A Sadanand Shetty, chairman of Sri Devi Education Trust, Mangalore.
He was speaking at the valedictory function of Mulund Friends Kabaddi Tournament ’07, which was held at RDF grounds, located in front Mulund East railway station here on Tuesday October 2.
The tournament was flagged-off by Niranjan Davkare, chairman of Samanvaya Foundation. Thane Bunts Association ex-president D G Bolar, Thane Billava coordinating committee member Ashok M Kotian, Thane Bunts Association president Prof Sitaram R Shetty, Hotel Excellence Manwada, Shankar S Poojary, Mulund Bunts treasurer Harshawardhan Shetty, joint treasurer U Mohandas Shetty, hotelier Suresh Shetty were present on the dais.
Dharmapala U Devadiga, president of Devadiga Sangh Mumbai was the chief guest present for the valedictory function of the tourney.
Popular sports organizer A Sadanand Shetty was felicitated on the occasion.
Mulund Friends president Suresh Shetty Yeyyady welcomed the gathering. Honorary secretary Dayanand Devadiga Karkala compered the programme. Razaq Kukkaje proposed the vote of thanks.
