Mumbai, Sep 26: The state governor SM Krishna congratulated Mahendra Singh Dhoni, captain of the Indian cricket team for winning against Pakistan in the finals of the ICC World Twenty20 tournament at Johannesburg on Monday September 24 evening.
In a congratulatory message to the Indian team, Krishna said “The entire nation is proud of the Indian cricket team for its thrilling victory over Pakistan in the finals of the World Twenty20.”
He further said that the victory has come as a climax to the winning streak maintained by the team in the entire tournament. Go-getting and confidence-inspiring attitude of the Indian team separated it from the rest of the contestants, he added.
“The victory has given a new confidence to the people and to all sportspersons in the country and I am sure it will instill a 'can-do' spirit among the sportspersons”, said SM Krishna.
He further congratulated each and every member, the coach as well as the management of the Indian team for the stunning victory.
“I also convey my heartiest congratulations to BCCI President Sharad Pawar on this memorable victory," he concluded.
