Mumbai: Billavara Association celebrates World Women's Day

Mumbai, Mar 10: Women's wing of Billavara Association, here celebrated women's day at Santacruz east Billava Bhavan, Narayana Guru auditorium on Tuesday March 8.






















K J Somayya College of Arts and Commerce vice president Divija Chandrashekar Belchada was the chief guest. Small Wonder School principal Chandravathi Poojary, businessmen Snehalatha Manmohan Guptha, Pushpa Bangera, Veena B Dayananda Poojary, Vedavathi B Bangera, Shashi Nithyananda Kotian, women's wing former executive president Jayanthi V Ullal were present as guests of honour. Members of local and coordination committees in the association and young girls performed dances.

Women office bearers with vermilion on their foreheads and jasmine on their heads officially set the celebrations in motion. Women office bearers presented flower bouquets to the guests and association vice
president Shanker D Poojary, honorary chief secretary Dharmapala G Anchan, Bharath Bank director Bhaskar M Salian, manager Dayananda R Ameen, Yuvabhyudaya sub-committee leader Nilesh B Poojary, Ravi A Poojary Lonavla, Savitha Gangadhar Poojary and artistes from Bharath Bank who presented the cultural programme and honored them.

Women's wing executive vice president Vilasini K Salian and Prabha K Bangera, joint secretary Laxmi S Poojary and other office bearers were present. The programme started with prayers by Sabitha Poojary, Leela Poojary and Shobha Poojary. Executive president Shakuntala K Kotian welcomed and gave the keynote address. Anusha Poojary and Kritika Kotian presented the cultural programme. Joint secretary Dr Geethanjali L Salian compered the hall programme. Division honorary secretary Sumithra V Bangera proposed the vote of thanks.
