Stellenbosch (South Africa), March 2 (IANS): The Indian women's hockey team continued their fine form by posting yet another convincing 3-0 win against Scotland.
Poonam Rani scored a brace and the other goal was netted by Vanadana Kataria as India closed off their tour on a positive note here on Tuesday.
The first quarter saw both teams going on the attack. But the Indians, who had beaten Scotland earlier in the tour, were in high spirits.
The second quarter saw Rani score a goal through a penalty corner. India continued to put pressure on the Scotland defence and maintained good ball possession.
The sustained pressure finally bore fruit as the Indians doubled their lead when Kataria scored their second goal.
The Indians started the third quarter on a high as they took over from where they had left and were seen in the opponent's circle most of the time trying to knit together chances. But unfortunately they could not find the back of the goal in the third quarter.
The last quarter brought good news for the Indians yet again as Rani slotted home her second of the evening.
