Mumbai: 'Kathavarana' book on Jayanth Kaikini released

Mumbai, Jan 18: Kannada department of Mumbai university and Mysore Association in the city jointly held a programme at Mysore Association auditorium, Matunga east here on Sunday January 17 afternoon to release 'Kathavarana', a book written by popular author and critic Dr Mamatha Rao on literatteur Jayanth Kaikini.










Mumbai University head of the department of Kannada, Dr G N Upadhya in his keynote address said that Jayanth Kaikini is an ocean in the world of literature with a simple yet colourful personality.

Dr B R Manjunatha, K Manjunathaiah, Nithyananda D Kotian, Rathnakar R Shetty, Dr Vani Uchilkar, Dr Mithra Venkatraj, Dr Ishwara Alevooru and other literary fans were present.

Padmanabha Siddakatte led the prayer. Dr Jyothi Sathish Ermal read the message of Dr Mamatha Rao. Kannada department research assistant Rama Udupa briefed about the contents of the book. Dr Poornima Sudhakar Shetty welcomed those present and compered the programme. Narayana Navilekar proposed the vote of thanks.

    Jayanth kaikini's tryst with his writing career, was very thrilling it was a very rewarding experience. Dr. Jayanth has carved a niche for himself between, Story telling, writing poetry, writing lyrics, for the kannada films, as an editor, and director of a private Television channel etc He has the great skill and stamina to manage all the above said things, in a progressive mannar. Three cheers to u Jayanth ! Good luck in the new year...
