Tumakuru: Car plows through crowd waiting for bus - five killed

Tumakuru, Jan 15: After a car suddenly deviated from its course and plowed through a crowd waiting for bus, five persons were killed. The incident occurred near Sira in the district on national highway on Thursday January 14.

The people were waiting for the arrival of their bus at Dodda Aladamara in Sira taluk. A Maruti Omni vehicle, which approached the spot at high speed, pounced on the crowd. Three of the persons were killed on the spot, while two others died later, without responding to treatments.

Four of these unfortunate victims were from this district, while the other belonged to Andhra Pradesh, it is gathered.
