Kundapur, Jan 11: "The concept of kings and emperors ruling their subjects ended long back, and at present, the concept of citizens being kings has been brought into practice. The way devotees from all over have been wholeheartedly supporting the cause of my coming Paryaya period, is so overwhelming that one feels that the Paryaya celebrations will match the mythological Rajasuya Yaga which were performed by emperors, in grandeur and size" said Pejawar Math head, Sri Vishweshateertha Swamiji.
He was speaking after accepting the felicitation extended to him by his devotees and fans from the taluk at Anegudde Sri Vinayaka temple at Kumbhashi near here on Sunday January 10.
"When seen through magnifying glass, every object looks larger and greater. The devotees of Pejawar Math have been viewing my achievements through the magnifying glass of their love and affection. Therefore, to them, my deeds look greater and more majestic. The great sage, Madhwacharya, had placed before the world the dual truths, world and god. This effectively denotes devotion in god and discharging of duties towards the world. Devotion, meditation, and puja alone cannot make god happy. When devotion is accompanied by social service initiatives, the Lord grants fruits of Puja in abundance. Madhwacharya was the unparalleled ascetic who not only preached duality of duty but also announced that he would ordain people in the path of devotion by giving religious initiation in that path to everyone who follows these two principles. The people of coastal Karnataka should feel proud to have such a great saint, who was backed by total commitment to duty and devotion towards the Lord," he added.
Former MLA, A G Kodgi, presided over the function. Junior Swamiji of Pejawar Math, Sri Vishwaprasannateertha Swamiji, delivered benedictory address on this occasion. Managing trustee of Anegudde Lord Vinayaka temple, K Sooryanarayana Upadhyaya, trustee, K Sriramana Upadhyaya, and entrepreneur, N Raghavendra Rao Neramballi, were present.
After felicitating the Swamiji on behalf of devotees and admirers from the taluk, a fund of ten lac rupees was offered to him. On this occasion, the Swamiji also dedicated to the world the extended dining hall of the temple.
President of congratulatory committee and former MLA, B Appanna Hegde, welcomed. K S Upadhyaya delivered introductory address. Scholar from Udupi, Gopal Acharya, read out the citation. Secretary of congratulatory committee, U S Shenoy, hosted the programme.
