Four arrested for conspiring to murder - in judicial custody

Mangaluru, Jan 11: The city crime branch (CCB) police here have arrested four persons, when the gang was planning to execute a plan to murder a youth near Urwa Chilimbi in the city. Three swords and two two-wheelers were confiscated from their possession.

The arrested persons are Deekshit (25) from Hoigebail Urwa, Deekshit Devadiga (25) resident of Gurumpe in Ashok Nagar, Praveen Poojary (25) from Urwa, and Mahesh Shetty (21) from Urwa. The police said that these accused already face charges of robbery and murder attempt registered in the past in Kavoor and Urwa police stations here.

The policemen comprising CCB inspector and staff raided the spot when the accused, who were seated in two two-wheelers, were planning to murder a person near Hill Crest apartment, Chilimbi here. The policemen said that the murder plan was being hatched at the instance of Sharan Rohidas and Ravichandra Poojary, who are already in judicial custody, and Vicky alias Psycho Vicky. It is said that their target was a person from Urwa Chilimbi.

Among the arrested, Deekshit and Praveen Poojary are facing robbery attempt case registered in Kavoor police station during 2015, while Deekshit Devadiga and Mahesh Shetty face murder attempt case in Urwa police staiton.

The arrest was made by CCB unit police inspector, Valentine D'Souza and police sub-inspector Shyam Sundar under the directions of city police commissioner, Chandra Sekhar and guidance of law and order deputy commissioner of police, K M Shantaraju and crime and traffic deputy commissioner of polcie, Dr Sanjeev M Patil. On being produced, all the arrested were remanded to 15 days judicial custody.
